Any person who rents a property will be required to place a security deposit with the Borough before electric service is provided. Fees are as follows:
- Standard Electric Service - Residential $200.00
- Total Electric Service - Residential $300.00
- Electric Service- Commercial two(2) times monthly average
Following a thirty month credit history with no delinquencies, the paid security deposit may be applied to the customer's utility account.
If you move out of the property prior to thirty months the security deposit will be applied to your final balance.
The security deposit is required as a security for property owners from tenants. If a tenant leaves a property and does not pay their bill, the balance falls on the owner. This security deposit provides some coverage of unpaid bills.
