Fall Leaf Collection Program for Ephrata Borough Residents

We're pleased to be able to provide a Leaf Collection Program that is convenient for you and better for the environment. As part of our program, Ephrata Borough residents will be provided with free biodegradable leaf bags. Loose leaves and leaves in plastic bags will not be collected. To be eligible to participate in the leaf bag program you must have recycling service provided through the Borough of Ephrata.

Martins Mulch, located at 55 Woodcrest Drive in Ephrata will accept leaves.

2026 Collection Dates

As in the past, leaves will be collected on the same day as your recycling items.  

Preparation

We encourage all residents to mulch and compost their leaves. If you choose not to take advantage of this natural process, please use the following guidelines to prepare your leaves for collection:

• Place leaves in biodegradable leaf bags obtained from the Borough or purchased elsewhere.
  Note: Loose leaves and leaves in plastic bags will not be collected.
• Place your leaves curbside by 5 a.m., but not more than 24 hours before pick-up.
• Leaves only. Please do not mix refuse or other yard waste with your leaves.
• If you experience a delay beyond 24 hours, please call the Borough Business Office to report it.

Leaf Bag Pick up

Ephrata Borough Residents may pick up your 50 free bags per the schedule below. Photo ID required for all bag pickups. After the 50 free bags are received, additional bags can be purchased for $.50/bag.

Bags WILL NOT be available at the Ephrata Recreation Center.
